Place Submission Guidelines

Eligibility:

  • The site must be located within the 18 counties in our National Heritage Area region.

  • Site content should align with our National Heritage Area Themes and managing organizations should align with our Core Values.

  • The site should be accessible to the general public regardless of physical ability.

  • Note: We typically do not list features within a larger unit (e.g. multiple trailheads within a State Park, or multiple rentals within a resort). We prefer to list the whole property or managing organization.

Application Details: 

  • Title: [Clearly state the name of the site, business, or asset. Should correspond to the name of your Google Business listing if applicable.]

  • Location/Address: [Full address of the site. Must correspond to a verified Google Maps address]

  • Owner Email Address: [Email address of the owner or managing organization]

  • Website Link (if applicable): [Provide a link to the site's dedicated website for further details]

  • Category: [Select the appropriate category from the provided list (e.g., museum, outdoor recreation, bed and breakfast, etc). You may select multiple categories. Please select at least one primary category and sub-category. This will help us determine your eligibility for inclusion and relevance to our Themes.]

  • Description: [A concise summary of the site including purpose, key features, compelling or unique elements, activities, amenities, etc.]

  • Image: [High-quality image relevant to the site, with proper file format (.jpg, .png, or .webp. Landscape orientation preferred.)] 

Content Guidelines:

  • Accessibility: Ensure place details clearly state any accessibility accommodations available.

  • Clear Language: Use straightforward language for easy understanding.

  • Accuracy: Verify all information for correctness before submitting.

Important Considerations:

  • Timely Updates: Notify the platform if any significant changes occur to place details.

By submitting a Place listing, you agree to the terms outlined in these guidelines. All submissions will be approved at the discretion of the administrator. Place listings are not automatically updated. Please contact us or submit a new listing if you have new information or see an inaccurate listing.
