Pendleton County has the largest disparity of elevation in all of West Virginia. Between it’s highest and lowest points are 3,708 feet. The state’s highest point is Spruce Knob, located nearby Seneca Rocks, offering many opportunities for outdoor recreation.
The Seneca Rocks Discovery Center educates visitors about the area’s history, including the Seneca Rocks Homestead and the West Virginia Maneuver Area. Franklin is the county’s only incorporated town, housing a downtown area with restaurants and shopping.
