Tucker County, and it’s railroads, grew as the coal & lumber industries grew. Remnants of this era have been transformed into places for recreation, such as the Blackwater Canyon Rail Trail. Coke ovens lie just outside of Thomas, a small town with a booming arts district. ArtSpring is an annual festival celebrating Tucker County arts.
Davis has multiple outfitters and restaurants. The Fernow Experimental Forest sits right outside of Parsons. Blackwater Falls State Park gives beautiful views of the waterfalls as well as the gorge of Blackwater Canyon.
